How to prepare

To ensure a smooth and effective Venous Doppler examination, follow these preparation guidelines:

  • Wear Comfortable, Loose Clothing: Dress in comfortable, loose clothing, as the examination focuses on the veins in your lower limbs.

  • No Fasting Required: There is no need for fasting before a Venous Doppler of Lower Limbs. You can eat and drink as usual before the scan.

  • Bring Relevant Medical Documents: If you have undergone a Venous Doppler or relevant medical tests at a different diagnostic lab, bring those reports for comprehensive assessment. If the Venous Doppler was previously conducted at our Texas Imaging & Labs, there's no need to bring the old report, as we can retrieve the data from our system.

What to Expect
During the Scan

Our dedicated team will guide you through a seamless Venous Doppler examination, focusing on the specific areas of interest.

The procedure involves applying a special gel to the skin over the veins in the lower limbs. A handheld device called a transducer is then gently moved over the area, emitting sound waves to create images of the blood flow in the veins. The entire process is efficient and designed to provide you with valuable information about the health of your lower limb veins.

How Long
Does It Take?

The Venous Doppler of Lower Limbs typically takes approximately 20 to 40 minutes to complete.

However, the duration may vary based on individual circumstances and any additional findings that require attention.

Our team is committed to providing you with a comprehensive assessment while ensuring a timely and efficient examination.

Upon completing the scan, kindly adhere to the following guidelines:

During this period, you are welcome to resume your day, with the flexibility to collect the report at a later time within our working hours. Alternatively, you can conveniently download the report from our secure portal.
